Golden Chariot ensures lavish stay in 19 coaches offering a sneak peek into the ruling dynasties of the south showcasing their architectural integrity. Interior of the train is inspired by 12th century Hosalya temple. Total 44 Air Conditioned cabins in 11 inter-connected coaches welcomes guests which also includes one cabin for Physically challenged.

Each cabin offers modern amenities Like LCD TV, Private Washroom, Small Wardrobe giving 5 Star Luxury experience.

There are two elegantly appointed restaurants "Nola" and "Ruchi", with interior inspired by Halebid and Hampi style of architecture. Both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian culinary delights are served to guests.

A fully equipped Gymnasium is also available on board to go along with two massage rooms for traditional age old massage to rejuvenate ones inner self.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bangalore

The "Pride of The South" begins with traditional welcome in Bangalore. Guests start check-in at Taj West End, Bangalore in afternoon for registration formalities of Golden Chariot Train Tour, followed by brief train tour presentation, hi tea & cultural program. Proceed to visit ISKON Hindu Temple, before reaching Yashwantpura Railway Station by 2000 hrs to board "Golden Chariot". Dinner is served onboard, as train departs for Mysore at 2100 hrs.

Day 2: Mysore Palace & Depart Kabini

Morning Breakfast On-board as train reaches Mysore station. Disembark as first drive to visit early 20th Century built Amba Vilas Mysore Palace from where you will be transferred to Kabini Jungle resort - where you will be staying overnight. During afternoon, guests will have enthralling jungle safari to the very famous Kabini National park. Enjoy camp fire session & Dinner, Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Kabini Boat ride & depart for Mysore

Early morning proceed for boat ride in Kabini River, to site crocodiles sunning themselves & many hued birds flitting in & out of the forests green canopy. Return back to Jungle Lodge for breakfast & check-out then drive back to board the train. Afternoon Lunch at the train. Proceed for Mysore sightseeing for excursion to 18th Century built Srirangapatnam Fort, Dariya Daulat & Tipu Mausoleum drive back to Mysore Town & time free for shopping. Later enjoy cultural program & dinner in Lalita Mahal Palace, now converted into a 5 Star Hotel. Back to train by 10 p.m.

Day 4: Mysore to Hassan

Early Morning, the train will leave from Mysore for Hassan, while guests enjoy breakfast onboard. Upon reaching Hasan, guests will visit Shravanabelagola village adorned with massive sky-kissing statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali. Climb 700 steps in order to view the architectural gem, those who are willing can join & other can stay at the comfort of the Golden Chariot

Afternoon, return to the Golden Chariot for lunch & brief rest and then move to Belur and Halebidu to explore the marvelous temple complexes. Evening Back to the train for Dinner & Overnight stay, as the train leaves for Hospet.

Day 5: Hospet and Hampi

Arrive Hospet & proceed for excursion to UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi palace ruins. Located in east-central Karnataka, India - It became the center of the Hindu Vijayanagara Empire capital in the 14th century. By 1500 CE Hampi was the world's second-largest medieval-era city after Beijing, and probably India's richest. Though Looted by rulers from North India in 16th Century, ruins of these historical monuments have withstood the destruction by man & nature. Afternoon return to the train for lunch & brief rest.

After rest, leave for excursion to Vittala temple - dedicated to lord Vishnu, whose compound has massive Stone Chariot, after which Golden Chariot was named. Enjoy sunset view beside Tungbhadra River. Return back to the train, for Dinner & Overnight stay.

Day 6: Hospet to Badami

Morning depart from Hospet to Badami - have breakfast on-board. Upon arrival, go for excursion to UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Badami caves & Pattadkal Temple. Explore temples & afternoon return to Hospet railway station for Lunch & then leaves for Goa. Dinner & overnight at Golden Chariot.

Day 7: Goa

Train arrives Goa early morning at 1:00 a.m. After on-board breakfast, go for Goa sightseeing which includes visit to ancient and famous churches which includes, Se Cathedral (the seat of the Archbishop of Goa), the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Church of S. Caetano, and notably, the Basilica of Bom Jesus which contains the relics of Saint Francis Xavier. Visit the Portuguese Mansion, now converted into an emporium, where you can shop and refresh yourself. Lunch and afternoon tea will be served in a luxury resort after which you will visit the best beaches of Goa. Leave from the resort for the Golden Chariot. Back to the Golden Chariot. Dinner will be served as the train leaves for Bangalore.

Day 8: Bangalore

On-Board breakfast, as you cherished different moments of the journey - from ancient India (Hassan, Hampi & Badami) to Modern India (Goa) to create a fairytale of your own, you arrives at Yeshwantpur Railway station where you will receive warm farewell from the Golden Chariot crew at Bangalore.

Day 1: Bangalore

The "Pride of The South” begins with traditional welcome in Bangalore. Guests start check-in at Taj West End, Bangalore in afternoon for registration formalities of Golden Chariot Train Tour, followed by brief train tour presentation, hi tea & cultural program. Proceed to visit ISKON Hindu Temple, before reaching Yashwantpura Railway Station by 2000 hrs to board the Golden Chariot Train for southern sojourn. Dinner is served onboard, as train departs for Chennai at 2100 hrs.

Day 2: Chennai & Mahabalipuram

Train reaches Chennai by 9:30 a.m. in morning. Guests have breakfast on-board Golden Chariot, then they will leave by road for Mahabalipuram - UNESCO World Heritage Site to view 8th century built stone cut Hindu temple complex. Lunch will be served at a luxury resort at Mahabalipuram.

Later drive to Pondichery, where Golden Chariot awaits its guests. Dinner onboard as train travels to its next destination Puducherry.

Day 3: Puducherry

Breakfast onboard Golden Chariot, then guests will explore Puducherry. Visit Auroville Ashram, Matra Mandir and shopping at Ashram. Lunch will be served at a boutique resort in Puducherry. Visit Aurobindo Ashram, Ganesh Hindu Temple, explore Promenade Beach. Return to railway station to board train for Dinner & Overnight stay.

Day 4: Tanjavur to Trichy

Morning train arrives at Tanjavur railway station, from where guests will for Rajarajesvaram - a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Afternoon lunch at 5 star resort. Drive Trichy by road & Visit Sri Rangam Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Return to Trichy railway station to board Golden Chariot & rest. Sumptuous Dinner on Board. Late Night train departs to Madurai.

Day 5: Madurai

On 5th Day of the journey, guests will reach Madurai. After breakfast on board, they will leave for Darshan at Meenakshi Temple, dedicated to goddess “Parvati”.

Later guests return to the train for Lunch. They have option either rest onboard or go for shopping.

Evening, Visit Thirumalai Nayakar palace for sound & light show. Later return back to train for Dinner & onward Journey to Kanyakumari.

Day 6: Kanyakumari & Kovalam

Early morning, arrive Nagercoil railway station. Early risers can enjoy the serene beauty of morning sunrise view at the southernmost point of India. After breakfast onboard, guests will visit Padmanabhapuram Palace – which belongs to both Kerala & Tamil Nadu. Later return Onboard for Lunch & continue for Kovalam. During Evening, Visit world famous Kovalam Beach to admire Arabian Sea during sunset. Guests enjoys cultural program while having their Dinner at a 5 star beach resort.

Return to Golden Chariot for onward journey to Kochi.

Day 7: Kochi

Arrive Kochi in morning & proceed to Alleppey to board traditional houseboats to enjoy cruise through the backwaters of Punnamada Lake. Afternoon arrive at Luxury backwater resort for Lunch. Proceed to Kochi by road & on the way Visit Chinese Fishing Nets & a walk around local market for Shopping. Evening return to Ernakulum Railway Station to board Golden Chariot for Bangalore. Dinner Onboard Golden Chariot.

Day 8: Bangalore

On-Board breakfast, you arrives at Yeshwantpur Railway station where you will receive warm farewell from the Golden Chariot crew at Bangalore.
